This week is perhaps the best week of my life up to this point, the only other time that compares is the Great Thanksmas (which was when we coined ourselves Team Thompson & our phrase "Team Thompson Saves the Day except sometimes it's Team Thompson Saves the Freakin Day Yeah!) of 2006 when our whole family was together for our combined Thanksgiving/Christmas. The only reason this time is better probably is because we have 3 grandkids in the family with 1 on the way. Right now, we are all gathered for our first annual family summer vacation in Colorado at my brother, Jeff & his wife, Rachel's house. We all arrived on different days with the last members of our family arriving this past Saturday night. We're all going to be together for a week & so far it's been so much fun especially with the kids. It's my parents (came from, well all over because they decided to do a road trip across country this summer but originally from NY in their car), my brother Shayne & his wife Loralyn (came from NY in an RV), my brother Justin & his pregnant (hopefully w/ a girl!) wife Blythe & their 2 boys, Cullen & Wyatt (came from WA on a plane), my brother Jeff & his wife Rachel (they live here in CO), then me & Analiese (came from NY on a plane). That's our whole family & the last time we were all together was in August of 2007 when Shayne & Loralyn got married & there weren't even kids in the family then.
Today we went for a drive through the mountains & to Estes Park. That was a lot of fun. We ate delicious pizza at Bob & Tony's. We got AMAZING chocolate fudge, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries at a Fudge Bakery. We shopped till we dropped. Seriously I've never seen so many souvenirs bought at the same time & in so many places & so quickly. It was crazy, we were all running around this main street into all sorts of different shops, looking, buying, talking, showing, laughing, crying (that would be the kids), eating & drinking. I love our family, we're all so crazy (in a good way not a lock us up put us in a straight jacket & never let us near another human being again way). We also respond really amazingly well in emergency situations. Such as the one we had last night. That's for another post at another time. For now, I'm going to spend time with my amazing family.
